My daughter and I, hit the lake for a couple of hours yesterday. Water temps have climbed to a consistent 50F down in the canyon and the kokanee fishing has finally turned on.
We caught 5 kokes and one bow in just over an hour of fishing. We missed a few others and lost another 3 kokes due to aerial acrobatics and last minute boat avoidance! Fish were found in a band from 15-30ft. We did best using a #1 Needlefish in pearl bikini under a 2 oz snapweight and planer board. The second best lure was Serpent spoon in watermelon trailing a 3 oz snapweight and planer board. Optimum boat speed was around 1.8 mph.
Hope it helps, Ryno
