Well Tommy and I decided to fish the Derby today, guess we should have just stayed home. Weather was "here and there"!!! We managed a couple 14-15 inches only though so not too camera worthy!!! When we left at 4 the big fish of the day was 24.5"!!! I did meet a fellow BFTer but I was so "shell shocked" from a late night, early morning, wind, rain, waves etc etc etc I didnt get his name so hopefully he chimes in so I know who I met. Anyhow, hope everyone else had better luck!!!

Yep, $15 smackers!!! I already knew that it was going to cost that much before I showed up, read it on a previous post, but I still gave that poor kid a piece of my mind. He came up to the truck and said "it will be $15" and I said "$15? that is 10% of my boat payment, are you kiddin me?" With panic in his face he said "sorry sir I just work here" and I told him "I already knew, I just thought I would give you some crap, but be warned this will probably be the only time that I and a few others fish this lake this year because of the cost"!!! I mean give me a break, I launched by myself (since Tommy was late and had to drive up) so the least $15 should get me is someone to take my boat to the dock. I had to back her in, get her off the trailer, drive her around the trees, dock her and then run back to my truck that is half way in the water and park it!!! Heck take that money and buy some monkey's to put in the tree's, so I have something to look at and some entertainment when they pick up their own poop and fling it at you!!![:p]

Trophy,
I did see you cruising along the rocks towards the dam when I left around 4:20. I gave out a big honk of the horn to all the other boats out there, but I guess I need to install a Big Rig horn so people can hear it!!! Good to hear that you got into them.

That's great you got out and catch a few! Pretty funny that you gave that guy a hard time about the fee. you'd think if they're gonna start charging us that much, they'd at least try to make noticeable improvements?

I'm glad to see that you guys got into some fish, but it still doesn't help the fact that they are charging that much to launch. Just plan BS in my opinion.

I hear what you are saying bud!!! And I do agree. Like I said that will be the only time that I fish Echo is for that Derby. They can at least take some of that money and make the necessary improvements such as: paved road down by the launch, trash picked up, get rid of half of those junk trailers and cars. It makes me think that I am launching my boat from a junk yard or a garbage dump!!! I know for the most part we (fisherman) are roughnecks, but my goodness that place is a mess!!! Clean it up and make it worth the $15 so I will come back you know???

Nice fish! Any Browns in your catch? I see you were 'riggin. Using Rapalas or something else? How about depth? I will be boating up there with Scouts next weekend. Would love to tie in to some big ones for them.

we caught 7 browns one in the pic went 19" but the rest of the browns were about 15". Shasta cripplures and sling blades caught 75% of the fish and picked up the rest on Rapalas. Fished it the day before and had same results, both days the fishing slowed dramatically at about 11:00 so get out early. O and they cut us a deal, 5$ to launch.

i think it was because we socialized with them a little the day before, my dad was the one who paid and he is a mean lookin biker dude so that may have been why too. But i agree for 15$ they should dry and wax your
boat the second it comes out of the water. We paid 15 the day before and a couple weeks ago as well.

Hey TS that was me you talked to when you were trailering your boat Saturday. That was the worst day of catching I've ever experienced at Echo.No kiddin....I trolled for at least five hours without a single hit.Tried different types of Rapala's,triple teasers even my high $$ pointers on a downrigger with no results. We even had a popgear and worm out there as a " sure thing " kinda deal which resulted in a big zero, zilch, nada.Oh well...the night before was tons'o'fun around the campfire with some tasty beverages !
