Hello,
I want to start fishing again, now! Are there any good lakes around the North Jersey area that I can fish from the shore? I don't have a boat [:/]. I have been to the resevoir in Wayne (poor) and a small lake in Garrett Mtn, West Paterson (poor). Any species will do, I just want to start catching fish again. Thank you for your replies.

give one of these a try, remember, fish dont always cooperate every day, some are better than others. tho it dose help to fish in waters where there are known to be fish. Good luck and let us know how you do...

Thank you for the information. I will be going on vacation mid August for a couple of days down that way...sometimes it can be a long haul getting down the Parkway so I don't see this a frequent trip excursion but I will be sure to let you know how it turns out.

You can try Hopatcong from shore. Around Bady Bridge is good for Walleye. Also Cranberry lake is ok from shore if you go to the end of lake where the park n ride is and walk the trails by the big rocks and cliffs.
