Sturgeon fishing around I.F.?
#1
Has anyone tried catching some of the sturgeon they planted in the river in Idaho Falls? I've heard of a couple people targeting them but not much, never seen anyone trying either. I know they planted mostly 3-4 footers but I've heard rumors of some 5's in there to. Any info would be interesting to hear.

I was interested to find out as well and found this on Fish & Game's web site:

White sturgeon are native to parts of the Snake River in Idaho, but Shoshone Falls near Twin Falls proved too great a barrier. With a boost from the Snake River Sturgeon Cooperative - which includes the College of Southern Idaho, Idaho Department of Fish and Game, and the Idaho Aquaculture Association - the great fish finally reached Idaho Falls Tuesday, October 23 (2007).
A Fish and Game hatchery truck hauled 74 white sturgeon from the CSI hatchery to the stretch of the Snake River that runs through the center of Idaho Falls.

Let me know how you go & how you do. I"ll do the same...
