Hi and welcome to Bigfishtackle.
I have used that frog before. It has worked in several states for me. I would give it a 4 out of 5 rating. It is tried and true working.
As far as the shooting goes, just be sure to instill safety into the young one so that it becomes a habit later. If he can prove to be safe and fully understand what a firearm is then go ahead and introduce him to one of the many enjoyable outdoor sports that he can partake in.[cool]

I spent the weekend out of state with the family and after our big dinner i took the frog lure
to a local pond. the action on that lure is GREAT it was to cold to cacth a fish on a top water
lure. But i will get more of them. Where did you get yours? and are they sold in stores or just online.

Funny seeing this post on the Maxx Rev lures... I saw them in my North American Fishing mag (latest issue) and wondered if they were any good... Thought about ordering one. Rockstarfrog.com has them, but the shipping was a little high ($6 or so). Just saw they dropped the shipping rate to $3-something) which has me on the trigger to place an order.
I'll drop a note back once I have my lures in hand, to report on what I think of the actual lure.
Thanks and Happy Holidays!
