The ice at Big Sand Wash was over 12" when I fished it almost three weeks ago. I drove by it last Friday and there were anglers in ice shacks near the boat ramp. Fishing should be good to fair for rainbows up to 16". Sorry I don't have better info. Let me know how you do. I'm planning to hit Starvation this afternoon.

Welcome to BFT. If you plan on hitting Big Sandwash I would enjoy a report from it. I thought about going there last weekend and I am thinking about going in a couple of weeks.

Edge is realy soft find a fallen tree north of the boat ramp to walk out to better ice. I did not get a lot of fishin done becouse of the waist deep dunking i got trying to get out there. i got one hole drilled ( I think i need some new blades) took 15 min. there was about 18" of ice and not much luck fished for about 2 hours till it was too dark. and left.

Thanks for the report. I hate soft edges. Last weekend I couldnt believe the ice conditions and rain I encountered when fishing another reservoir in the Uinta basin, especially for the middle of January. I may be inclined to fish B.S.W. in the next few weeks and hopefully this new cold snap with firm up the edges.
