Hey guys, just wanted to ask what techniques you've found most effective on Spring Walleye. I usually go with a botttom bouncer set up or leeches if that doesn't work, and it's always in the river here, the nearby lake is targeted too heavily for them so it's quite harder there. However, the same guys won't hit the river like I do, since they don't wanna scratch their purdy fiberglass boats, my ole aluminum clunker gets me where I wanna go.
Just thought I would get your ideas and maybe some new techniques to try this year. Hope you're all doing well!

i use a jig head with a 3 inch curly tail, i would use leaches but not legal here i tip it with a worm or with some sent, then reel just as slow as you can. (i always say if your not getting snags your not reeling slow enough), and if thats not working i use a small diver rapala.

A Jig and meat in the spring is pretty hard to top but, it depends on the system itself and as usual - the fish. Lindy rigs work well. There again, days come up where the fish just want a simple minnow/leach/crawler on a plain hook (I use Octopus hooks size 8-2 depending on the bait size and fish attitude) behind some splitshot. I've also had some good days running cranks on a few rivers too. Just depends when and where on top of their behavior.
