Hi

Found this sight a few weeks back and signed up.

I just picked up a pontoon tube, finished the mods, now I'm ready to register it through DMV because of the electric motor. Hope they wont charge an arm and a leg for it. Anyone here experience in registering a pontoon float tube?

Welcome to BFT. Its $26.00 here in PA for 2 years if you are gonna use a little motor like you have. How well does that sock thingy work to hold your fishing buddy on your toon? I was thinking about getting one but if it don't work i would rather save the $15.00.

They were suppose to drop it to $10. here in Utah, but I think it was around $27. (have the taxes for the roads to get there included LOL).
Plus we use to have to license all boats in April regardless when you bought it, I think that might have changed, I don't know cause I licensed mine way back in April.
Something you might want to check on. It would suck to license it for one month, but it can happen.

That's an intresting thought. When I make it into DMV, here in California, I'll be sure to ask how long is it good for. I want to reg it before April I think, anyway, because they are doubling ALL fees at the end of April. It's a Ca thing....[frown] !!! You know, money trouble.....!!!!

I had and sold an alum boat and the fee was 15$. But we missed the last reg , so with the penilties it was $30... But a new reg I don't know yet how much...

Thanks everyone !!

Welcome to this Fantastic Forum!! I hope the Republic of Kalifornia doen't rip you off too bad when you register your 'toon. I know here in San Diego county, they almost doubled the daily lake fishing permit fees from last year. It used to be $5.00 a day and now it's $8.00 a day. I guess the crook politicians need a bigger pot to steal from.

Well it's a done deal. Went smoth and easy at the DMV. Cost a little more than I expected, but not too bad... $56.

$20 for this $20 for that, $7 for this $ 9 for that.

They charged me $9 for alternate fuel (For electric Motor ??? Sheesh!!) Must be a California thing...[crazy]

Anyway, I just need to get a Marine Battery and I'm on the water. Planning on going to the Delta on the 7th for some striper action (I hope). So we'll see then how it all works... But first I'll take it out on New Melones, Monday, to see if I have any more bugs to work out.
