I fished the Ogden for the first time this morning.
I fished up the canyon a ways, and at first, was really not impressed. It was a little off-color and the bushes were quite tight on the river.
I started the morning with a couple nymphs and had zero success. With the water clarity low, I decided to tie on a bugger (with crystal flash and rubber legs). That was the ticket for me. I landed 15 browns with a couple long distance releases. All were 15 inches or smaller, but very aggressive.
I did see some mayflies hatching, but only saw a single rising fishing. I think that I left a little too early for a larger hatch. Maybe next time.
All things being said, a great day fishing.
