Met Chad MIller at 5:00 sat. morning. Ate a big breakfast and was putting the boat in the water at 6:45.
Watching the GPS we went straight to the spot where I hookded up with some fish Friday.
We didn't have the lines in the water more than 5 minutes when Chad hooked an eye with a lindy rig. Unfourtunatly the fish came unbuttoned.
A few minutes later my bouncing rod got and ever so slight bend to it. Feeding the fish until I felt weight I swept the rod and felt a solid thud.
Nice 21 1/2 inch healthy eye.
All right this was going to be a great day [cool]. And it was except the catching went down hill from there.
In the nexted couple of hours I had two more bites. Hooking one and loosing it and missing one. Chad had a hit on a crank and couldn't keep the hooks in it [crazy]
Bad luck but thats fishing.
Weather was confortable, slight wind, water temps 47 degrees and good company.
We did release the fish.
Chads a really nice guy. Good thing []. Seeing as we are going to be spending 10 or 11 days to gether on that trip to N. Dakota for the Cabelas NTC.
Chad did take a pic. Maybe he'll be kind enough to add it to this post.
PS: Brodie called me while on the lake and I told him where we were at. He had two eyes when we left. I believe a 23 and a 19 incher, both on cranks.
He did release the 23 incher. I'm proud of him [cool]
He is teachable []
