crappies n cats

does anyone know where i can get in to some good cats?i was thinking about heading up tp newton this weekend so any help wold be nice ty[fishin]i was out at the bay a couple weeks ago when there was still a little bit of ice still but me and my buddy was able to land three cats ranging from 20'' to 25'' good thing for lanterns

I would skip Newton for cats this time of year and hit Benson or Cache Junction on the Bear River JMO!

I have only seen one catfish at Newton in the 5 years I have been fishing it and that one was floating. I have heard of people catching them a few years back. Post if you catch any. LC

I also would recommend somewhere other than Newton for Cats, after they drained it a few years back the cats seemed to dissapear. It is also a few weeks early for crappies in Newton. I would try Benson Marina for some cats, but crappies have been way slow at Benson this year, it might have something to do with the draining of Cutler last fall. good luck[]
