What a crappie day !! emoBigSmile started off as a scouting mission to check out a few places with the side imager and ended up finding a mother load of crappie emoDance

put in around 8am at charleston ramp and heading down to the blythe ferry area to see if could find some sunken cars i had been told about ... didnt find em .. fished the bluff areas around there with nothing to show before
heading into the goose pond shallows where i did pick up 4 keepers in about 3 fow around a brush pile with a bg bleeding shad. one had what looked like a nasty tumor on his side so i tossed him back.

tried trolling with one of those little wally marshall cranks but only ended up with drum for that effort emoDoh

this was an area i had planned on fishing for the crappie tournament ,but due to a bad trim solenoid i couldnt make it that far upriver, with only 4 11-12" fish it wouldnt have helped me much anyway ...

back to more scouting and seeing neat stuff on the humminbird . small schools of fish here and there bait fish everywhere then the bottom drops way off in an unexpected spot in front of this dock and it has fish
absolutely STACKED in it .

started throwing the bg bleeding shad (tail dipped of course) and anywhere from a 5- 10 count was getting a fish... smaller fish high bigger fish low ..the end of the dock was 19 fow with it being 12 fow up in the dock (had to retrieve a bad cast)
within 45 min i had filled my limit and started culling .. it was nearly a fish on every cast emoDance i kept culling up until i ran out of the bg shad at about 2pm . i ended up putting well over 70 fish in the boat
with several just shy of the 14" mark (13 3/4 and a half emoBigSmile ) my best 7 went 10.6lbs with the biggest pushing 2lbs emoDance

with the wind picking up and the merry go wake makers out in force it was time to go anyway (not to mention a call from the wife beginning with "YOUR CHILDREN" ) as with any trip to the water (i am like ericm this way ) something bad did have to happen ..... some how during the rough ride back to the hiwassee (where it smoothed out a bunch) my brand new $20 bullet ball cap came dislodged from between my life jacket and my belly emoScratch should have made me mad but with a good catching day like today it will take more than loosing a good hat to upset me emoBigSmile
