Still loving the high water, 88,000 cfs! Met my son at Riverpark after he got off work about 5:30pm. We fished til about 8:15. The smallmouth bite was still on, big time! We caught a lot of them, the largest being Pete's 5 pounder. All were caught on tube baits and jig/plastic pig, except for a couple on spinnerbaits. Of course, all were released. We didn't count how many TARP SM we caught the last 2 days, but there were several (20 in. plus).

In answer to Biofisher's question of yesterday, we always fish with our boat in the river current. We look for places where there are current breaks and eddies along the shoreline. Some hold fish, some don't. Some places you can handle with the trolling motor, others you might have to anchor. Once you find fish in a spot, there might be a lot of them.

Two other fishing boats put in when we did and they were the only other ones we saw except for the 4 or 5 law enforcement boats which were looking for last night's missing boaters. Our hearts and prayers go out to them and their families. The parking lot at the Rivermont ramp was full of official vehicles where they had set up a command post. This sure was a stark reminder to us to wear our life jackets.
