Had a club tourny on Neely Henry today. Water is flowing at a very very fast pace. It's really to much to fish comfortably in the river. Also the water is about the color of peanut butter which did'nt help any. Me and my partner started the day fighting the current and caught 3 small spots in about and hour. We was worried that the trolling batteries would'nt hold up all day in the current so we decieded to find something a little different to do. Made a run down river from ramp and found some cleaner water in the back of a creek. We threw mostly plastics and mixed in some spinnerbaits and Rumble jigs with pretty good results. We moved around a bit looking for more areas with the cleaner water and had some succsess in 2 to 4 feet of water. We ended the day with 15 keepers and 6 slicks with our best 5 weighing 14 lbs. even and big fish of 3-14. That was good enough for 1st place and big fish. Rooster and Ms.Rooster had the only other limit and weighed 9 something for 2nd and caught their fish on about the same baits as we did. Everyone weighed in fish but the guys that stayed in the muddy swift current of the river seemed to have had a tougher day.
