Creek Fishing, Upper Snake Region
#1
I am looking for somewhere to do some small river/creek fishing. I don't flyfish... although I need to learn. I grew up in Wyoming and just moved here from Alaska and I'm getting back into trout fishing. I want to go tomorrow, and I'm wanting to go somewhere new. I've fished the southfork at wolf flats a few times this year. Caught and released a few cutthroats and caught 1 rainbow. Any help?

i always like Big elk creek, and Bear Creek. They both flow into palaSades res. If the run off is down i imagine the cutts are heading up.

Jackknife, Tincup and Stump Creeks are also descent little creeks in that area. They tend to have an early runoff and should be fishable by now.

Don't forget paliSades creek, warm river, Henry's Lake Outlet, the Henry's fork (especially from Ashton Res up to warm river, very waidable), birch creek past mud lake, and medicine lodge creek. Also around warm river/Ashton area is Robison creek which I tried for the first time last year and found to be interesting. However on that last one they had signs warning that it was a moose calving area and actively hunted by grizzly's in spring and early summer. Great, two of the grumpiest animals out there. One hormonal and the other hungry! Maybe you should wait another month or so for that one[Image: dumb.gif]
