We hit IP and Henry's this weekend and just got back. Started out on Henry's on the 11th and wow, totally skunked. Bugs galore and only seen 2 fish jump all morning. Seemed everyone else was having a slow day also. It was a perfect day to fish tho, just like glass. We never went back all weekend after that.
On the 12th we hit IP Res and did pretty good. We brought home 10 between the 3 of us. Most were in the 2 lb range with the largest at 2 lbs 12 oz. We did have some nice weather other than the funnel cloud that made an appearance at the end of the reservoir.
On the 13th we hit IP Res again and managed to only keep 3. We lost 6 right at the boat. These fish were fighters. They would be out of the water dancing behind the boat before you seen the pole move. Then they would stop fighting and let you bring them right up to the boat and then they would fight like hell as soon as you tried to net them.
Round 3 on IP was on the 14th. I managed to land a 4 lb 1 oz Cutthroat and we ended up with 9 fish that day. Last fish of the trip ended up being a 2 lb Koke, the only Koke we caught the entire weekend. I have not figured out the Koke's on the res yet. They do not like what I use at Ririe.
Overall is was a good trip. Quite bummed Henry's was so slow, but IP made up for it. We did not catch our limits, but came close. The size of the fish made up for not limiting out. Most the bows were natives but there were about 30% that were planters. I may have to try again for Koke's in IP Res. Overall it was a good trip.
