shiftworker, guntersville, brown and green fish, june 29, friend
#1
fished guntersville in the mid lake area around goosepond.. we started off throwing top water spooks, pop r's.... first stop no fish.. we gave it 30 minutes and jumped ship to the next area... immediately we began catching fish most in the 2lb range. we moved again to a grass mat.. mostly matted with some places not hardly that thick... we boated a couple of nice 3 to 3.5 lb fish on a rat... then out of nowhere i hooked a mean fish that pulled like a big one... once i got it to the boat... it was a 4lb smallie... never in my life have i ever heard of a smallie in a grass mat in goosepond... as the day moved on we fished some ledges and humps in 7-12 ft with worms and jigs boating a few more good fish and a bunch of small ones...best 5 around 22lbs...

color didnt seem to matter but it was wierd that some areas they liked darker black/ junebug colors while other areas more natural colors like watermelons...

for the day we boated 35 or more fish... with most of them being around 2 to 2.5lbs.

nice to finally be catching some fish over 3lbs.
