[fishin] Has anyone tried fishing cottonwood creek? My wife has decided that we try some new camping areas and I've researched some fishing areas around cottonwood canyon to fish. I'm interesting in knowing whether or not it's that great of place to fish. If not, any other ideas around the cottonwood canyon area to fish?

If you are talking about big cottonwood creek, then yes, there are some good places to go. I suggest going higher up, where you are almost to solitude/brighton. You will see a pulloff and some deep slow moving water. I don't know what kind of fishing you are doing, but any kind works. I personally prefer fly fishing, using pmd's, or caddis. I have also caught fish on small gold spinners. I have also seen quite a few people using worms with success. This is a mountain stream, which is somewhat small, so don't expect any fish past 12 inches. I think it is a very fun stream to fish anyways. I hope this helps!

Thanks happybob91, I'll check it out. I like to fly fish but my wife is a newbie to fishing. I taught her how to lake fish but she's only caught one fish. I really need to show her a good fishing time.
