PV tigers
#1

Haven't seen a lot of posts on PV this year, will be camping next week at Anderson cove and doing a little tiger musky fishing. Curious on water level and how the fishing is.

I will be in a boat, I prefer trolling but did catch my first Musky casting last year. I live in Boise and visited PV for the first time last year (I was an avid musky fisherman when I used to live back east).

Last summer I was at PV in early June, water was very high and we caught a few casting along shore and another few trolling (over the course of a week). Had so much fun when my parens came out to visit made a short trip to PV in late August with my Dad, water was way down, no more brush along shore to cast at so we trolled and found fish supsended in open water, had a blast and caught 6 tigers in a day and a half, one was 47 inches.

Last year there were a lot of posts on this board about PV tigers, this year not so much, and the posts there have been seem to indicate tiger fishing is slow. I know they stopped stocking because of VHS disease concerns and am wondering if maybe the tiger numbers are down. I see Utah now has their own pike and pure musky to breed/stock their own tigers - this is great, I wish Idaho would do more with tigers, generally they put a couple hundered here and there to control bait fish.
