Rockport Sun. 2nd
#1
The wife and I hit rockport Sun. Launched around 7 and fished till noon. Boated about a dozen rainbows and lost/missed about the same. Again most were 15" clones but the wife did get one nice fat one about 18".

Fish were showing at 20-30 feet. Most were caught just of the Crandal campground or sightly toward the inlet from there. Used leaded lines out 2 to 2 1/2 colors at a slow troll. Were hitting an F5 frog flatfish on my line and a red bead/red blade wedding ring with worm for the wife. They liked coming out of the water once they got hooked which added to the fun and the loss rate.

Talked to one angler at the marina who had done well fishing for smallies but didn't ask where or on what.

Left at noon because it started getting a little crazy with all the fast movers. Either they haven't heard of the 50 yard proximity laws or they are a poor judge of distance, I'm giving them the binefit of the doubt here, but really think they just don't care. Is it illegal to shot bottle rockets at them? The other thing is why do these guys waite untill they are on the boat ramp before they load the wake boards and crap into the boat clogging trafic? Their lack of courtesy seems to extend to the dry land as well. I guess it's the "it's all about me" sydrome. OK enough griping.

I think we all need to mount water cannons on our boats for those people who like to get to close. Not only would it be fun to knock them on their butts, but teach them a good lesson in the process.

We were up there also on sunday fishing from the shore
boy the water seemed real busy The power squad
seemed to be un full force. Seen one boat almost get nailed by another looked like the 50 feet rule was more like inches Hard to tell from the shore what exactly happened but allot of profanity being shouted. [laugh][laugh][laugh]

Take your camera and snap a photo of the offending boat. If you can read the numbers on the bow, they are too close and you should turn them in. The only way we can get them to obey the law is to let the law deal with em. The rangers are unable to be everywhere. As to the loading on the ramp, again, snap a photo with a date/time stamp and give it to the ranger. If you go after them, you become the focus, let the rangers do it. Make sure that you carry a USB cable with you so you can hookup to their computer and download the pics. IF more fisherman became proactive about this, the Rangers would catch on and do more about it. Digital cameras are the greatest because you get instant results.

By the way, someone posted on the board here a while back that they did this and the guy got a ticket. It will work.
