Hi all, I am thinking about hitting Mantua this weekend and need to know if the weeds have started to die down yet or got worse with the water dropping. We were there about two months ago and were able to plow the bass boat through but am a little worried that if the water dropped even more the weeds may be too bad for a boat.
I included a couple of pics from a recent trip to New Zealand. The eel is a Conger and the fish is a Hapuku or Grouper.
Thanks for your help!

I heard the weeds were bad. Going up for my first time Saturday. Maybe I will see you there. Me and the wife will be in an aluminum boat with an eletric motor on the back.
Nice pics of New Zeland!

Last time I was there (last weekend), the weeds and moss were out of control. Water level looked to be down a bit too.
That wind comes up around mid to late morning and scatters the weeds.

Sorry I can't help you with your Mantua question but thanks for posting your pictures from your trip to New Zealand. I never knew that eel got that big, are they any good to eat?

I guess you just seem to plan better when your drunk. I know as a sober man I wouldn't have gone back till it had suffocated. Go liquid courage. lol!!!

Classic. I had a little liquid courage too! Look at how close I had that thing to my head.
Curt, I hear those things are good to eat, very lean meat. We released the one in the picture as we had caught a ton of Hapuku and Blue Cod, which in my opinion are fantastic to eat.
Looks like the weeds are too much an Mantua. Thanks for the info guys.
