San Diego fishing trip. """FANTSTIC"
#1
[cool] Thought I might give a report of San Diego trip last week. Went out on the Condor out of fishermans landing. Caught 6 dorado and I lost count of the yellowfin tuna. Caught till we were tired. Everyone caught all they wanted. We went 110 miles South into Mexican waters on a day and half trip. The over nighters were not getting the #s. Well worth it. Planning a 2010 trip already. Just go onto the web sights, Fishermans Landing, H&m landing Point Loma and others and follow the fish counts. What a trip. Happy fishing.

Looks like a great trip and that is nice haul of tuna in that last picture. What does a trip like that cost?

I was just looking at a trip for 2 weeks from now.
Travelocity has airfare to SD for $249 round trip plus $15 each way for luggage (rod case, reels and tackle will carry on with me if I go).
Trip for a 2.5 day on the Holiday out of Point Loma is $495 for a 28 person limited load leaving fri the 10th.
New Lo-Ann has a 1.5 day leaving same time for $275, with a max 32 on board.

This is such a great deal that I can't stand the fact I have had zero work in the past 2 months and still can't afford it.

Congrats on the trip. I've gone on 3 trips on the Red Rooster 3. They were all 3 day trips and a real blast. Those tuna really know how to fight.

It has been a few years since I've been out and I need to go again. Brought back a lot of memories!

The Condor is $275.00 now but I would look at the #s. I don't think you'll need more than a 1.5 day trip. We brought back sooooo much fresh tuna filets and a bunch of dorado filets also. My friends I gave it to say it was the best. If the counts keep up you wouldn't know what to do with any more time. It's the count that counts. Good luck and happy fishing. LUCKY

Nice trip and pic's! Yellowfin have made me put a rod down more than once. I know what you were feeling man!

Too bad pictures don't do those dorado justice. They are the most beautifully colored fish I've seen. But you better look quick, the sure do fade fast.

Good Job!

I did an ocean fishing trip in July. (Didn't know if I should post it here or not.) Had the time of my life, our fish of choice was barracuda. We also caught sheeps head, rock fish, sea bass, mackerel and another caught a shark and a sting ray. And the end of the day, a big whale came near us just 100 yards from the boat. It sure beat my trips to Utah Lake this summer. [Wink]

I signed up for Email updates so that I could go back and do it again sometime - and man this sure seems like the time and the year to do it!! Thanks for the report. [img]../../../images/gforum/Smile.gif[/img]

And you didn't save some for the rest of the class? [Wink]

Would love to have a bunch of that in the freezer. May have to try to talk my wife into one of those trips!
