Utah Lake white bass
#1
Spent a couple hours mid-day saturday in the east bay area south of the airport. Found a school of chunky white bass among the reeds and caught a bunch. Went off searching other areas without any luck and returned to first spot.

School was still there! There were a couple brief periods when they'd take anything but most of the time I had to work at it some. I educated a few dozen or so and kept a half dozen to eat.

A few chased spinners but most preferred 2-3 inch grubs in chartreuse or white with white being the favorite. Jigging along the bottom was most successful.

The picture shows 3 of the biggest. Most were 10-11". Only a couple smaller ones. All were fat and healthy looking.

A whole lot of fun on a ultra light rod especially with a double hook up.
