stealing steelie advice (report)

Hey i am headed up to the salmon area to do some steelhead fishing for my first time on monday till saturday and i am clueless on tackles and technique for river fishing, just wondering if anybody could help me out, anything is greatly appreciated. thanks in advance

If you look down through the last gazillion steelhead posts you will find some great nuggets of wisdom including pics. I am not a steelhead fisherman, Yet! So can't help you much.

If you scroll down through the older posts, I started one about being new to steelhead fishing. There were alot of great tips from alot of different people and they were all great tips!

Stop by some tackle shops in Salmon and they will get you lined up with everything you need.

Just got back from fishing the north fork of the salmon for my first time ever and wow what a blast!!!!!, only caught a handful of fish but had an excellent time.

awsome job man glad you got a few not bad, now your hooked and will return as often as possible.i cant wait iam heading back down there fri morning staying till tue wed not sure yet hope the weather hold's out did you have to deal with any slush ice yet?

good old ebaneizer thats were i caught my first steelhead also. using bobbers? also how were the crowds

when we arrived on monday there was some ice built up but by wednesday it was all gone, we caught fish bobber fishing and bottom bouncing, lots of guys bobber jig fishing though. the crowds during the week werent bad bu ton friday night people poured in there like crazy.there was still quite a few people during the week.

you was fishing in the exact same place i was last week. very good hole caught my limit as well. Nice catch.
