The res has about 2 inches of ice at the boat ramp, and a few open spots where the springs are. The ice at the damn is a solid 4 inches and should be good for the Thanksgiving weekend. There are a lot of springs in there so watch for thin spots and be careful. The level is coming up rather fast so there will be thin ice and slush on the edges.
Just remember, a little common sense goes a long way on the ice.

dimtrap,
You made my day, and my Thanksgiving for that matter as well! I will probably ice fish it Thursday and Friday. I would love to get into the kokes; believe it or not I have never caught one out of Montpelier, but I do well for them at Ririe and Mackey. Again, I really appreciate the report.

Went back out tonight to do some night ice fishing on the reservoir, between two of us we got six fish. 3 Cutthroats, three rainbows, most where small one good one went about a pound and a half. We only fished for about two hours. Not bad for a quick night trip.

When I was at USU we would go to Montpelier. We did well in the old creek channel. We just drilled until we found the drop off and edges. Fished in fairly deep water. We always caught a ton of fish. Never got any real big ones. We did get the kokes at times.
