TU Togiak seat
#1
Does any one know where I can find information on the seat height of a TU Togiak? I bought a Togiak, but it did not have a seat or the apron. I am planning on making a apron form a rubber maid lid. I would also like to know what the distance for the rod should be.
I haven't been able to find anything on the web yet, must not be looking for the right thing.

Hope everyone has a safe and Happy Turkey day

[cool][#0000ff]I think the seat is just a "sling" between the two sides of the tube. If it is like the Kennebec I had it does not get you up out of the water. But, you could put a piece of foam on top to give you some more height.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]The "stabilizer bar" on the front, that holds the factory apron, is vital to keep the two front parts of the tube from collapsing in on you. You need it whether you have the apron on it or not. Just measure the distance between the two little pocket the bar inserts into and cut a piece of 3/4" PVC to fit. Actually 1/2" will work but it bends more. It should be just long/short enough to fit in the pockets before you sit back on the seat and pull it together. I don't think you can buy those as an aftermarket item but if you can you will need to look for "Trout Unlimited" Togiak Stabilizer Bar and Apron assembly.[/#0000ff]

Cool, Thank you for the information. I have some 3/4 PVC laying around so I am half way there.

The write up this is:

Because the seat is raised, you stay drier and see farther. The extra-comfortable stadium seat with a high, adjustable backrest provides support and comfort.

It looks like the padded seat on the Escape...one of those like you take to games and put on bleachers.
But the part about seating higher? Interesting

Interesting, the plot thickens. I will have to try and research this further.
