Local winter catches (pics)
#1
Here's a few pics to bring you guys out of the doldrums and think about Spring. Highs in the 70's for next few days. Check out the stocked palomino that was caught:

Like the way this guy concealed the fly that was used?

Meanwhile, I was up river not catching much in the area where this fellow was:

Wrong place, wrong time but at least the scenery was great.

Ya know, you suck!....LOL just kidding. Seriously, I hate the hard water and I do love stillwater fishing so I am a bit cramped in the cold months.
Thank Gawd the rivers are awesome in a snow storm.

Speaking of Palomino's, Here is one caught on wood and ON ICE...or snow[laugh]

So that isn't your boat in the bottom picture? That is a sweet looking Yak.

Sorry 'bout that goddess. To be fair, I have to say that the summers are unbearably hot around here. That is not my kayak, only use pontoons now. You can see how a short rod is preferred with the sections of narrow water and overhanging tree limbs. That pic of the palomino you posted shows one advantage of the cold- flash freezing for preservation and later consumption![Smile]

[#0000ff]But, we have a policy on BFT that we do not allow links to websites that also have forums on them. Could you just post the pics and remove the links to the forums?[/#0000ff]

Yes, I will be glad to do that, TD. Nothing was flagged with the previous boat design forum links. Thanks for the reminder. Please remove anything that is verboten. Can "look up" forum references be made, ie. are only "click on" links banned?

Thanks,

Pon

[cool][#0000ff]In truth, it is a rule that I do not totally support. I also like to post links to other websites with info that would be helpful or of general interest to forum members. That's why I did not nuke your post or use stronger wording in my reply. I am not all about forum Gestapo tactics.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]To be fair to the admins of BFT, they sell ads and sponsorships based upon activity on our boards. Whenever we send someone over to another board or forum it theoretically reduces our traffic. But, as I said, I would rather have everybody feeling comfortable in sharing things they have found rather than getting paranoid about violating some fine point of the law.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]In truth, we do not have any kind of problem on this board. But, on some boards they get a lot of spam posters and blatant shots at free advertising. If that were to become a problem on our board I think we could deal with it.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]No harm, no foul.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Merry Christmas and good fishin' to all.[/#0000ff]
