i decided to take my sisters fiance up to lost dog to try my first time with burbot. Well I learned some and realized i have a lot more to learn before I will be very good at catching them. I did end up catching 4 and a couple of macks. I used some 3 inch glow tubes and grubs tipped with sucker meat. I would definitely like to get out again and try to catch some more. Most of the bites were really light and you really had to watch close to catch them. well I hope I get to go again,

Sounds like fun Jed. Plan on doing it myself (also my first trip) this Friday. Curious what you learned and what you still need to learn?

I learned that the bite is super lite and you really have to watch your pole to see when they hit. they like sucker meat. closer to the bottom is better. I still need to learn a better way to watch my strike indicators in the dark and where they like to hang out more.

you didnt go to lost dog did you? [pirate]no wonder the bite was light and the fishing was slow. sorry i couldnt help or go this week it has been a long week.lost dog is the last place i would go on fg but what the hay would i know?buckboard down stream .......... LD get's pounded way to hard. there is 91miles of lake guy's get over lost dog. it's like all jim's client's, let's fish swim lol .then the fishing slow's down becouse of the pressure? next time go to holmes get on a rocky point with a drop into the channel near by and try it. try a glow stick on the end of your rod and stop useing broom stick's lol ht make's a 48'' ice blue ultra light that is awsome and can handle bigger fish to if you hooked one. most ling i have been catching are riping the rod's allmost down the hole but i let them swallow it to there @$$ before i rip there gut's out....then you know you got 'em. my 4yr old caught a 32''7lber a week ago and 40 other's to go with it so if a 4yr old can do it. well maybe not lol better luck next time. ash
