Nice job. Those things are far and few between in DC this year.

Get a spring bobber for that rod and you will see 3 times the number of hits you are seeing now.
Trust me on this. [signature]

You should get the Angler of the Year award for catching those without a sporing bobber. Where did you guys auger in?

How heavy was your jig? When I fish the deep with a 1/4 oz. jig it seem very difficult to keep my line tight. Even using two jigs doesn't seem enough..Maybe a kastmaster above the jig will help..[cool]

What Lb. is your line? Usually 3/8 to 1/2 oz should be enough to sink you to the bottom and straighten out your line. I use smaller jigs and a flasher or kastmaster to add weight and with the spring bobber it is awesome, you see everything goingon down there

I fish with 4lb to 6lb depending on which pole is bing used. Your right I just need to step up to a heaver jig, or start using a kastmaster, to get it down. Lately I have be at Pineview in 50 ft of water small jigs like rat finkeys seem to work best for the perch. Just got to get it to them in a way where I can see the bite. Thanx[]

These good snow pack years are really helping the fish populations spring back. That's the best report for perch at DC I've heard in a while. I definitely need to go there this year... as well as every other lake, pond, river, stream, or ditch I can pull a fish out of.[crazy] Good job on the perch.[]

went back to that same spot agian later today. the perch were still there! went and picked up a spring bobber and ya it made a WORD of difference. they were just teasing me mostly. only brought up a couple little guys. tons of bites though. right on the bottom as usual. they seem to like pink... and worms.

When you get your first then chunk him up and tip your rig with little perchie pieces. They hang on to that longer. Don't wait when you see the strike if they are barely hitting. Nail them as soon as you see a bite. Thanks again for the good post.
