Willard So Marina Open
#1
[cool][#0000ff]Walleyes, wipers and BIG crappies being taken along the rocks on the lake side. Jigs under a bobber or fished slowly next to the rocks. [/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]No reports of cats yet. Plan to go for a "grand slime" sometime next week.[/#0000ff]

Is this some sort of decoy post? I fished the south marina this past weekend and caught absolutely nothing.

TD is the South Marina open for launching boats yet? I'm taking the old Crestliner out Friday morning for her first trip this year.

Packfan, it won't be this weekend as I'm still finishing up the refurb but we will have to get together on Willard and introduce your old Crestliner to my old Crestliner. Mine is 31 this year so it is getting all new vinyl, seats and posts, a new steering wheel and glovebox. There's 2 more panels to be installed and I'm waiting on the downrigger mounts to arrive so I can finish that job. Then it's fishing time!

[cool][#0000ff]I did not claim that EVERYBODY was catching lots of fish on every trip. In fact, most people are NOT catching fish. But, if you hit it right and get lucky you CAN catch fish. [/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Right now the weather is likely to turn things off for a couple of days again.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]The "locals" have been hitting it heavy, all around the lake. Some days nobody catches anything. Some days there is nothing going on until just before dark...and only at a couple of spots and not at others. [/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]I am not "hot spotting". Just letting BFTers know what a whole lot of other people up there already know and are taking advantage of. You still gotta put in the time and do it right.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]When Mama Nature settles down from her hissy fits we should all have some good fishing. In the meantime, get out whenever you can and hope you picked a time when the fish show up to play.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]By the way, the report is that the wipers are footballs...super fat from easy dining under the ice on all of last year's shadlets.[/#0000ff]

Thanks TD, if the snow gives us a break tomorrow I'm going to take the boat out. Being a SR citizen now allows me to park my rig on the front side when it's open.

That's okay, these old legs have paid their dues.LOL. I just hated leaving my boat tied up at the dock with all my gear when I'm fishing alone, and walking over the hill to the parking lot.

[cool][#0000ff]Yeah, right. I'm the lazy one. I use leg power to fish...not horsepower. But I can't tow a water skier.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]With age comes wisdom...and parking privileges. I try to take advantage of both.[/#0000ff]

Yes I guess I'm the lazy one, but I don't park close to the ramp but I never walk to far too the car either when loading the boat.
