Provo and deer creek

I went to Deer creek at about 6 and fished off the last pull out. I haven't fished it to much so I don't know were to go. I was using a shade color rapala. I fished for about half hour and didn't have no luck so I headed back home and stopped at the provo. I never fish it so I wanted to give it a try. I went to the road just after the dam and used a black jig. I got one on but it got away. So I was wondering if any one had tips or spots that are good on the provo. And if anyone had tips for walleye shore fishing at Deer creek
