this weekend April 17-18th is the 26th annual Salmon River Jet Boat race. IT takes place in Riggin's Idaho. This is an amazing race i have been going for the past few years. The city of Riggins puts on an amazing party and then there are the boats.
This is a short video put together by one of the race crews to explain the sport

I do have an interest in this race as well. My uncles team 163 tuff-n-uff will be racing and defending there title. trying to make it three in a row.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gmmVUYzMN...re=related (their the first boat to go by)
From what i am hearing all the race classes will be represented from unlimited (any motor any mods this includes a boat with a jet engine powering the pump ) A class (367-400 ci) B class (310-266 ci) BBFX (Chevy 502 or ford/dodge equivalent) SBFX(chevy zz4 or ford/dodge equivalent) and sport jet (stock Mercury v6 )
the U A and B boats all can break 100mph while the bbfx does about 90-95mph the sbfx does 80ish and the sport jets do about 65.
I can't post the link to thee web site because it has a forum but google jetboatracing and you'll find it.
