Well i know they have not stocked Cold Creek since March 23rd. Also talking to the locals up there, they told me that the trout start to die off in the pond in July-August. Not sure if that is true but the guy seemed to know his stuff... You might have some luck out there still, but be prepared to share the area with Loads of RV's and ATV's this time of year.

Take the 95 Northbound towards Indian Springs. Take a Left on State Route 172 (Cold Creek rd.).. Its the road in between the 2 sections of the prison...Follow Cold Creek rd. about 10-15 minutes. The first building you will see up there will be a Fire station on your right. Go past the fire station and take your first right on the dirt road. Follow the dirt road past in between the 2 smaller ponds and it will lead you down to cold creek pond.

Here is a Map that I marked to help you out.

Thanks So much James... I'm hoping that this turns out to be a productive trip. I usually go to Southern Utah to do my trout fishing. This would be much more convient... That map was very helpful as well! Thanks again! I'll be sure to post a report on how things are up there... planning to go early next week... [fishin] Tight lines to ALL!

I have a friend who lived in cold creek for about a year. He tried fishing that pond quite a few times and never caught a fish. That doesn't mean you wouldn't, but I doubt its a honey hole. He did say that he saw one guy catching a couple tiny trout on a flyrod. Good luck and let us know how it is.
Fish on!

I went up there in Late may and was catching fish on almost every cast on the fly rod. BWO's and Olive hares ear nymphs were the ticket.

Over the winter I was up there riding. Didn't get to talk the old man into letting me bring the pole. Seen a guy there catch two in about five minutes. They were decent sized considering the size of the pond..

Just got back from Cold Creek... Got up ther eabout 6:30am to a ton of fish jumping and visible fish all around the pond/lake... Only hooked into one and lost him a few feet shy of landing him on the shore... Nothing special- but not surprising for this time of year I guess... Can't wait to go back in the fall after NDOW stocks... I can see the potential, but it wasn't worth much today[crazy]

What did you use for bait? Did you try the woolybugger suggestion?
