No BS. We counted carefully and landed 79 fish this morning at Strawberry, plus long line released another 20+ - all on the Soldier Cr side. It was smoking. A friend and I were on the water and started fishing at 5:45 AM and fished until 11:30. We trolled off downriggers at 20-40 feet deep using RMT gear in various colors, no one color really seemed to dominate. Ratios were about like last weekend, 2/3 bows and 1/3 cuts, also landed one 2.5 lb Koke and lost one by the boat. A majority of the bows were in the 12-16 inch class, though we did bring in several 4+ lbers and a few big cuts (which didn't fight as well as the 14" bows). Both Kokanee grabbed and ran sucking line as they went - the way Kokes always do. It was rare to go more than 5 minutes between fish and at one point around 7 am we caught 16 in 10 minutes- which is about as fast as we could get them to the boat and get the gear back onto the rigger and down in the water. If you're thinking of going somewhere this weekend and have downriggers I'd hit the Berry.

Why would I post 79 pictures to this site. You've seen one rainbow you've seen them all, besides we're catching fish too fast to pose with every 14" fish we caught. [sly]

Nice job at the Berry!! I was up on Thurs. and it sucked (no trolling) jigging and throwing hard baits. Glad someone is getting into them. I fished Strawberry Bay and CCE and it all sucked for us!!

You want picture proof of every trout caught and yet anyone who is catching that many is releasing a lot and is not going to keep a fish out of water any longer then is necessary to get a picture. Pics of the fish are nice but aren't necessary and some guys can't even afford the gear to get the pictures and post them online. Whether you believe it or not, this guy is telling the truth. I know that because I have been fishing for many years and I have had numerous days and nights with landed trout numbering 100, 200, and more. If you don't think that is possible, then maybe you should test the people making the outrageous claims without pictures and ask them to show you how it's done. You may be surprised at what you didn't know.

We've had a lot of success up there the last couple weeks, and given some of the tough times some others have had I wanted to give everyone a heads up on whats working and that the lake isn't dead right now, you just have to do the right things to catch 'em. I've always felt that is the purpose of these boards, though often the threads go a different way. Anyway, off my soapbox now, the fish are waiting and I'm headed up to the Berry again at 4am.
