Went out this last weekend to Sunnyside and fished Haymeadow. Hit the lake off the shore Thursday night around 5pm. The fishing report said the trout bite was slow. It was wrong we caught 7 1 to 2 lb trout off the bank in about 45 minutes. Went back out the next morning about 8 am We couldn't keep them off the hook. I usually eat what I catch but we ended up catching and releasing most of them. By 10:00 am it was getting warm. I tried my hardest to catch some bass no luck. A friend has shown me several different set ups for the bass. I just haven't got the nack yet.

We will be heading up there this weekend with the bass boats for our annual Junior Bassmasters. How were the roads?
Next time take a butterfly net and catch the dragon flies, you will get a bass every cast.

Dirt roads were great, they still have the 318 road work its about a 15 to 20 min wait. Its funny you mentioned dragon flys. There were a bunch one crashed inot the water and couldn't get out he kept buzzing away. It lasted about 1 minute before a fish gobbled it. At one point fish were hitting the bugs on top of the water for about 5 min. I was trying top water lures and a couple others a friend had given me that he catches LMB. They just didn'.t want my offering. I usually have my boat but this time were fished off the dam.

Thanks, a lot of the guys dont like to bring their 30 -60 k bass boats up their becaus of the roads. We do this every year and it is a two day tournament just for the kids and we have a blast. We throw in a few high dollar prizes (props, trolling motor) to encourage volunteers.
Last year I watched as a guy from shore used a butterfly net, funniest thing watching him hop around after the dragon fly's but he caught one every time. Black and blue 3" senkos for those who cant use live bait...
Good fishing
