Rainbow inside my big walleye
#1
Interesting find last night at the DC cleaning station. I was starting to fillet my walleye and could feel something big in his stomach. To my surprise I pulled out a trout, haha. If you look closely you can see some huge bite marks in his mid back. Pretty cool to see. Then again, it was pretty cool to get my personal best walleye too[Wink]

That's a nice walleye! Congrats. That trout might still be edible. Let me know how it tastes...

Nice fish, what were its measurements? I always knew that those big eyes loved the fatty flesh of the rainbow trout. Thanks for making it a valid assumption.[fishon]

Just goes to prove: Fish are food, not friends!

That's a serious hog! Looks fat - did you get a weight on him? Before removing the rainbow, of course.

DC is direct current right? (or Deer Creek even?)

What were you fishing with? I'm with Flygoddess - got a 7 inch rainbow swimbait, but haven't used it. Might be time to try to find a whopper!

I didn't weigh her, I need to get a scale though. I wouldn't recommend to anyone dedicating a day at DC trying to catch walleye. There just aren't enough to justify it. Just consider yourself lucky when you get it as bycatch

ya like you said dc doesnt have many walleye. dont go target walleye or at least the big females. to hard to catch and a total waist of time. [Wink]
