I am trying to gauge the turnover. I ususally found it around 2nd week in October.
Proof to me would be when the surface temps are almost equal to deeper temps.
Fishing seems to pick up at that time, I assume for several reasons.
Thanks to all, great site.

Koch,
I've called the marina several times and they didn't have a clue. And I still call them.

I was there two weeks ago and the algae was in full bloom.
Can anyone report on the water quality as of late?

today was 54-55. i am no expert but it looks to me the lake has turned over. i could not see into it that is for sure. the fishing sucked too. out of me and my dad, we got only a slot cut after 5 hours of fishing. i did not see anyone with fish and the store people said it has been that kind of day. the fish are shallow too. looked like most boats got off the lake early today. it was snowing off and on

Was there today (sat. 9th) and the water was very soupy. We were constantly cleaning off our lures. I think it may be a couple weeks for the algae to clear out and for the lake to have "turned over." The fishing was slow but we were able to get into some rainbows near chicken creek and in the narrows. Water temp was 54 degrees and we were graphing and catching fish deep and shallow.
