SOCIAL CIRCLE, GA - The Georgia Department of Natural Resources, Wildlife Resources Division announces the recent appointment of Ted Will as the new Assistant Fisheries Management Section chief. He fills the position left vacant by Michael Spencer who took the position of License and Boat Registration Unit Supervisor. Ted Will previously served as Region Supervisor for the West Georgia region.
"Ted has served the division in multiple capacities for 10 years, and his most recent position as region supervisor where he not only continued to oversee his Region, but locally supervised the building of the recently opened Go Fish Education Center," says Division Director Dan Forster. "With his extensive experience in a number of statewide programs and projects, Ted will be an asset to the state's expansive Fisheries Management Section."
Ted Will, as assistant chief of fisheries, will be the Federal Aid coordinator for the Fisheries Section. In this position, he will direct administrative functions of the Section.
Ted Will began his career with the division as a fisheries biologist at the Demeries Creek office where he managed the Savannah River striped bass population and provided technical comments on Savannah Harbor deepening project. In 2003, he was promoted to senior biologist and had responsibility of both Evans County and Hugh Gillis public fishing areas. In 2007, he assumed the role of regional supervisor for the Central West Georgia area, supervising a staff of 22 and a budget in excess of $1 million. Currently, Ted resides in Houston County with his wife, Tracey and their two sons.
