I went to crawdad cove the other day fishing for striper and noticed a few crayfish in the water here and there. I bought a crayfish trap a while back and was thinking of leaving it out one of these nights. Anyone know some good spots to lay it? Been dying for a good pot of crayfish.

Nice! good size too! I'll try setting trap on the shore of crawdad cove and I'll let you know what I find.

a few weeks back out at hemmingway my son was walking the shoreline and hand picked 8 large crayfish, took em home boiled em up in some old bay seasoning and had us a crayfish snack, tasted great!! i read somewhere online the state stocked crayfish into lake mead some years ago for another food source for the fish and the crawdads flourished, probly a good reason why the smallmouth population is doing so well.

Now just because its called crawdad cove dosent necessary mean you catch grundles of crawdads. Keep in mind the best time to capture crawdads has alot to do with time of season. Best bet is spread your traps around dif areas of the lake some areas better than others do the homework. Internet has ton of tips and how 2's. Flsp has craws 2 but if your looking to harvest it is just not big enough to consistantly harvest craws keep in mind its a neighborhood pond ewww. Right time right season like syn said you can hand pick those critters right from the shoreline. Their also favored by the smallies aswell. Good luck
