Pat had so much fun yesterday watching me catch that Rockfish that he wanted to try it again today and see if he could catch one. We agreed to meet at the Riverpark again before daylight and get started.

I groaned when I checked the TVA flow rate before leaving the house this AM and saw that they were flowing over 33,000 CFS. Not good conditions in MHO. Yesterday, they only flowed 18,000 CFS which is about right for good fishing.

Anyway, despite the less than ideal conditions, we ran up to the dam area and began drifting back down the current edge. Did I mention that the water looked like a flood? emoBang We landed 7 fish, 6 different species, but only one striper. I was so happy that Pat caught the striper this morning as it was his very first striped bass ever. A 6 lb honey of a fish. He also caught the only skip jack herring that was landed. He hooked another one that quick released. I landed 2 very nice white bass, and one each of smallmouth bass, spotted bass, and an Alabama smallmouth. (Drum) for all you don't know what an Alabama smallmouth is. emoUp Get mad at Pat and not me. He is the one who coined that phrase.

Pat was shaking in his boots with excitement when he hooked up, fought, and finally brought to net his very first striper. He may be hooked on these fish like Dhaun is hooked on Striped bass. David just quit fishing for anything else, almost, after catching Rockfish. Now maybe some of my better crappie spots will be less pressured. emoUp emoUp emoUp

Good job by you today, Bassert. Now just avoid all the rocks, other boaters, and running through the fish and you will be on your way to becoming a Striped bass nut. BTW, if you want to borrow my shad head jig mold, then just let me know.

Happy Thanksgiving to all my CFF buddies and all you lurkers out there who never post. Be thankful that someone will post a fishing report so that you can see what's biting and how and where to catch them.

Oh and we saw Foodsaver and his Dad, Steve, out there this AM trying to catch a striper. I know that they caught a yellow bass and a channel cat. Craig will have to post his other fish. I hope that they got into some stripers too. emoBig emoGeezer
