Met up with my fishing buddy this morning to go after the Chum Salmon. 27* at the boat launch,,,,and not much warmer once on the river, and as usual river is fast. After a cold boat ride to "chum camp", a tarp fashioned to 4 trees and a camp fire. We would begin our 1st drift. Eight minutes later BAM inside rod doubles over, 11 Mins later a nice 21 pounder in the boat. Made a couple more drifts with no luck...back to camp to warm a bit, cut a bit more wood. Then we shove off to make a few more runs.....BAM rod loads up and a decent 17 pounder in the boat fresh from Puget Sound complete with sea lice still attached. Made a few more runs missed one and released a hen them back to camp for lunch. Had about 10 gal of chili on the fire and ready for consumption. Ended the day with 3 landed and 2 long distance releases. emoToast emoBig
