russbayless, Chick, Bass and bream, 11/25/10, Father in law
#1
Got on water about 11 am out of HBSP went pass Island Cove Marina around the docks and banks in that area, and the bass were'nt happening. Told my father in law, if I ever needed to just catch something I have my ultralight with a 1/8 oz. white Roostertail or similar in line spinner. He had something similar and it was on! We bet for the most and biggest. We lost count of all the bream (50 +/-). He caught a spot about 1lb. and was up on me for about 2 hrs. Bass only counted in the bet of course. Then like the @$$hole that I am, I put it on him with 3 small bass back to back (two had red eyes). Then he said he was hungry for some turkey and I told him to "eat this" as I casted at a blow down and hung a 3 1/2 lb. largemouth. Good fight on an ultralight. To my surprise, I thought I was just going to catch a small trash fish feeling cocky that I won already, and he let his hunger make him want to quit sooner than me.

In all, an awesome day with the family. Also it was very windy in most areas. Caught most bream in the calm coves, no size to them , but better than nothing. emoSmile
