FLW Outdoors Announces Boosted 2011 Walleye Tour Paybacks
#1
MINNEAPOLIS (Dec. 13, 2010) - On the heels of announcing that the National Guard will serve as title sponsor for the FLW Walleye Tour, FLW Outdoors announced today a significant increase in the paybacks, making the FLW Walleye Tour one of the most lucrative tournament trails in the country.

The top prize in the Pro and Co-angler Division for qualifying tournaments and the championship are guaranteed, with the remaining payback based on the number of paid entries in qualifying tournaments. In each qualifying event, the top pro award is $50,000 with the winning co-angler earning $6,000. Additionally, pro anglers could earn up to $18,500 and co-anglers up to $4,500 in contingencies through Ranger Cup, Evinrude, Mercury and MotorGuide.

The top prize for the no-entry-fee championship on the pro side is $50,000 and the top co-angler prize is $5,000. Pros can earn an additional $20,500 and co-anglers can win an extra $7,000 through contingencies courtesy of Ranger Cup, Evinrude, Mercury and MotorGuide.

"With increased paybacks and new sponsor commitments, especially from the National Guard, we are extremely excited about the 2011 Walleye Tour season," said Kathy Fennel, president, FLW Outdoors Operations Division. "I believe this announcement shows our commitment to the sport of tournament walleye fishing."

The 2011 Angler of the Year on the pro side will win $10,000 and the Co-angler of the Year will take home $2,500. The AOY in both the Pro and Co-angler Division will also receive automatic entry into the 2012 FLW Walleye Tour Championship. Automatic entry into the 2012 championship will also be awarded to the 2011 pro and co-angler championship winners.

Anglers that participated in the 2010 FLW Walleye Tour can begin registering immediately either by mail, calling (270) 252-1000 or by visiting FLWOutdoors.com. Entry fees are $1,250 per tournament for pros and $350 per tournament for co-anglers. Pros must pay a $250 deposit per tournament and co-anglers must pay a $100 deposit per tournament upon entry. Ranger boat owners may enter beginning Feb. 1, 2011 with all other entries being accepted beginning Feb. 2, 2011.

With the National Guard serving as title sponsor for the 2011 Walleye Tour, their involvement will present more soldier appreciation tournaments in conjunction with tour events offering positive opportunities for soldiers, veterans and families. These events are an avenue to display the appreciation everyone should have for those that serve our country.

The 2011 season returns to one division with four internationally televised tournaments and a no-entry-fee, internationally televised championship event and will feature the best walleye anglers in the world. The complete schedule for 2011 is listed below.
