Slow On The Early Ice 1/2/11

Hit DC this morning with my brother. Pikeman was pulling out as we arrived. There was one group of a couple anglers that beat me to the DC hard deck this year, but we were second. Anyways... wasn't really worth it. I have had good success on the early ice in previous years, and I was happy that I got to fish right where I wanted to. Well, we moved around a bit and found ice from about 2 1/2" to 1 1/4" (yes I fished on 1 1/4"[:p] ). It was good clear solid ice. Final count was 5 for myself and 3 for my brother. Largest was a hair over 14". Nice to get on DC, but action was not very fast... and I was unable to find quality fish. Oh well, better than sitting at home. Since there were no big fish caught for pics, I took one of my weird fish....
