Just wondering on how was the ice up there, I am thinking of heading up there this weekend and the newspaper reports the ice as not being very safe it says not to venture out very far. I know the edges will be soft and they have been for a while now, but besides that how is the rest of the ice

I was up there on Monday the 24th and everywhere I went the ice was thick. At least 8 inches of clear solid ice
