The 32nd Annual Port of San Diego's Day at the Docks will be wrapped up in a new package as a result of the $3.5 million redevelopment of San Diego's Sportfishing Landings.
Held Sunday April 17, 2011, Day at the Docks celebrates the beginning of the sportfishing season and showcases what is recognized as the world's largest, most modern sportfishing fleet at America's Cup Harbor on San Diego Bay. The fleet is famous for its first-class accommodations and access to some of the best saltwater sportfishing.
Many of the fleets vessels will be open for inspection and others will offer introductory boat rides on the bay.
Onboard seminars with Captains and crew plus an all-star lineup of experts will present 'how-to' seminars covering every aspect of sportfishing including catch preparation demos for everyone from first timers to seasoned veterans.
A backdrop of more than 200 exhibits, manned by experts in their respective fields, will display Fishing Tackle, Marine Art, Clothing, Accessories, Services, etc.
There will be raffles of thousands of dollars of fishing equipment donated by sponsors and exhibitors plus live entertainment featuring some of San Diego 's finest.
There will be casting competitions, a Captains' Dunk Tank, plus kid's fishing and art contests.
Admission is Free! Plan to come early and stay late for California's largest sportfishing exposition and the only event of its kind!
