Any BFT members fish the Perch Party today?
#1
Decided to head up to Pineview today and see if I could find some folks from the UWN and get in on some of the great perch fishing I've been reading about. Ran into Fish1on in the parking lot and he said he knew where DKStroutfitter was fishing, so I followed him out, after a small detour we finally found him. Dale and Catch22 already had a few perch and crappie on the ice so I drilled a few holes and right away started getting hits. As we were fishing and talking, Adam Eakle stopped by and did some filming for an upcoming show. K2muskie stopped by and visited for a while, she said they were also doing good with the perch. Then Dubob came by for a visit, catching was good for him as well.
Around noon the guys started packing up to head over to Chris's for the UWN get together. Dale and his ban performed some great Bluegrass and Country selections. Then they had a give away with some great prizes that K2musky was able to get from local and on-line fishing stores. It was a great time and it seemed everyone enjoyed themselves. Thanks Dale, Kim and Pat for the getting me to come over and putting the Perch Party together. Did anyone else from BFT attend?

Hiya WH2, what a great time and glad you attended as this Perch Party was really open to all not matter what forum one calls home.

Just think come next year and if the two forums unite...talk is having a Pineview Perch Party a dedication and tribute to Mr. Doug Miller. That would be totally awesome...so let the planning start.

I'd like to personally send a BIG THANK YOU to TubeDude for his generous jig collection donations to the Perch Party...also for the sample pack for 'da' ladies...we did very well using the smaller glow greens catch'n Perch and on Friday catching smaller Crappie...couldn't keep the fish off them drop down and hit...unfortunately we couldn't find the slabo Crappie...thats okay as there's always the 'next' trip... pic below of the Perch Party harvest for us...had to start throwing them back as we'd still be cleaning fish...think'n we brought home close to 40 and tossed probably twice that many back down the hole...

Again WH2 thanks for attending on the deck and at Chris' and TubeDude your prize dontations will be used with great success by the receipents...and we'll put them also to the K2 test....[Smile][Smile]

It was good to see you again, Curt.
I had a very fun day both fishing and the party after.

I would also like to thank TubeDude for your generous donation.

I'm looking forward to the Perch Party for next year.
Adam seamed to be real interested in the idea of dedicating the party to Doug Miller.

Perhaps we could have a Perch Fry right at Pineview,
similar to the one at Yuba a few years ago.

[#0000ff]Happy to be able to contribute to the door prizes. I know one happy recipient...IcePrincess. She called all twitterpated about getting some of my jigs. And her little gal scored a new ice rod setup. A couple of happy girls. You do good work.[/#0000ff]

Yes, that would be awesome. Those perch should be a good size by then and a perch fry on the ice would round out a great event.

Hey - they up and put "GOOGLE" in the dictionary - I think this word should follow!

Had a chance to lose one of your perchie jigs to the depths, but she dun put up a good fight on the way down. Yur grandboy and me still owe a trip down your way one of these daze.

Great post! Curt - you sure it's ok to talk about "the others" here? - haha. Glad you put it up. Only wish I coulda been there! Big brotha kept me busy enuf this past weekend, alas. That time of year (taxtime).

Sounds like folks had a nice time, and lots of bumping into-s. Maybe by next weekend I can get a day away! We'll certainly look to the next round of this event. I'm sure my kids would get a kick out of it (daughter sez she'll come ice-fishing, if I get her skates. Order just came in!)

Only wish there were more photos! Sorry to have missed it. Thanks for putting it on, and sharing the outcome. Anything with bluegrass and perch has gotta be ok.

I'm not sure how it will work out in the long term but I hope we are going to start allowing a little more sharing of info with the folks at the UWN. As far as pictures are concerned, send K2Muskie a PM. She took a few pictures that I'm sure she will share.
