Fishing walleye with glow-in-the -dark
#1
Anyone have success fishing for walleye at Deer Creek using glow-in-the -dark spoons through the ice? I am experimenting with a new glow powder embedded in epoxy to get a brighter, longer acting glow and wanted to know if anyone had experience with this.

the only one I have heard of is a while back someone caught a 8 incher at DC, I remember because he said it was a "cigar" walleye... the size of a cigar.

I think, after trying for many years (5), that most eyes at DC are caught by accident instead of when they are "targeted" wether one is fishing soft or hard water.

that said, if you would like to get anohter opinion, I would be happy to try out some of the new glow stuff for you [Wink]
I am addicited to "glow" type lures, I fish typically evenings and into the hours of first dark alot.

Yup, and most Elk are shot by people hunting bunny rabbits.

[cool]I[#0000ff] have been using the glow powder for decorating jigs and spoons for several years. It works great for some species but not so much for walleyes. I always caught more walleyes on non-glow spoons and jigs. My best walleye lure in DC has been a 3/8 oz. gold Kastmaster...with a piece of perch meat or crawler.

The toughest part of catching walleyes through the ice at DC is finding them. They are often very deep and only wander into shallower water on rare occasions until spring. And finding them is no guarantee you can catch them.
