pontoons
#1
I think the reason they won't allow pontoons is the same. Sliding them over the fence will break the fence down. Weston is one of the only reservoirs in S.E. Idaho that you must cross a fence to get to the water. Also there is no boat dock, launch access there. For those who are not familiar with this small reservoir it is located south of deep creak reservoir in the Malad. Preston, Weston, Clifton, Dayton etc.... area. It has bass, perch and trout. Because it is so small and there are more people now It is easily fished down to nothing. Holdover trout from the previous year are usually gone by the first of July. I have taken huge perch 14-15 inch variety long ago but it is hard to find 12 inchers now and if you do get into them , the quantity is down to afew a trip. One of my favorite places because of the fond memories. The current condition is crowded and the quality isn't there anymore but I keep trying. The bass can be fast and furious but they seldom get larger than 14 inches. I remember back in the early 70's I arrived at the lake and found a 5-6 lb bass hanging on a fence post. I have always felt someone didn't know what it was and thought they had caught the worlds largest chub.
