Ice conditions in the Magic Valley
#1
I went for a drive today and checked out Dog creek, and Wilson Lake.
Dog creek is 3/4 free of ice. The water is very murky and brown. I headed to Wilson Lake after that. I haven't been there in years. I was wondering how much water would be there. It has water but not a lot. It has me wondering if the lake keeps enough water to have any carry over. The boat ramp is mud, deep mud. After reading the F&G technical data, I am wondering if there is much at all for a fish population there at all. I would be interested to know if anyone has any luck there at all. Anyway no ice there at all. I am kind of thinking about going to salmon dam tomorrow to launch my pontoon and give it a try. I am going to have to think about it. Ron

Ron I was at Salmon Dam last Sunday and found with the previous weeks cold weather it had formed a sheet of ice again and I couldn't find anywhere to fish from shore. Checked Grey's, Big Sand and Norton and all had 10-15' of open water at the edge and that was it. I would imagine with the warmer weather there will be some open water now, I was considering taking my boat tomorrow. If you go, good luck to ya.
